The GEMS Story

In 2014, GEMS began with just seven athletes, including three children of co-owner Leanna, who all still cheer and work in the program today. Leanna and her business partner and co-owner Nikole had known each other for only three months when they signed the lease on their very first location. What started as a dream to create a safe, welcoming space for athletes and families to grow up in and belong to, became something far greater than either of them could have imagined.

Over a decade later, our programs and facilities have grown, but our heart has never changed. We do our best to always lead with kindness and transparency, and we expect the same from those around us.

At GEMS, we are not just in the business of building cheerleaders. We are in the business of building good humans. Compassionate, driven, resilient members of their communities who carry the values they learned on the floor with them for the rest of their lives.

One of our greatest prides is the coaches and athletes who have chosen to stay with GEMS year after year. They didn't just grow up in this gym, they helped shape it. Their loyalty is a reflection of the family we have built together, and we could not be more honoured to have them as a part of our story.

It is because of our incredible GEMS families, their unwavering support, their honest feedback, and their willingness to walk alongside us through every season, that we have grown into the program we are today. They didn't just believe in us, they helped build us. We are forever grateful for every single family who has been a part of this journey.

We know we aren't perfect, and we never claim to be. But we show up every single day committed to doing our very best, learning from every experience, and growing alongside every person in our community. We know we aren't for everyone, and that's okay. But one thing we can promise is this: we will always be there for everyone, no matter what.
