We know that sometimes it can be hard to watch your child learn new skills and face challenges, but your support is crucial to their growth and success. Here are 8 important points that we like to remind parents, which will help your athlete thrive:

1. Be Patient: Learning new skills takes time, and progress may come slowly. Patience shows your child that improvement is a journey, not a race.

2. Encourage a Growth Mindset: Focus on effort, not just results. Celebrate hard work and perseverance, which will build resilience in your child.

3. Trust the Coaches: The coaches are trained to guide your child through the learning process. Trust their expertise and allow them to handle the instruction.

4. Provide Positive Reinforcement: Praise your child’s attempts, even if they don’t get it right the first time. Positive feedback encourages confidence and self-belief.

5. Create a Safe Space for Mistakes: Let your child know that mistakes are part of learning. Avoid criticism, and instead, help them see mistakes as opportunities to grow.

6. Stay Calm and Supportive: It’s natural to feel nervous when your child is trying something new, but remaining calm will help them feel more confident.

7. Model Perseverance: Show your child that giving up isn’t an option. Encourage them to keep trying, even when things get tough, and celebrate their progress along the way.

8. Be Their Biggest Fan: More than anything, your child needs to know you’re proud of them. Cheer them on, whether they succeed or stumble, and remind them that you’re proud of their hard work.

Your support is key in helping your athlete reach their full potential!
